Hello Reception

I am so proud of you all and how well you have completed all of the learning. You have all worked so hard this year, well done to you all. You are all superstars.
I have made a short video for you to watch and look back at all the great learning we have done in Reception.
Good luck for Year 1. Have a lovely 6 weeks off and stay safe. I will be supporting the children for the first week in Year 1 to help with transition.
I will see you all in September.

We are working really hard with our phonics and sounds. We have been  reading and writing letters to the nig bad wolf. We are trying hard to write cpations and sentences. Please help me at home by orally sounding out words and letting me guess the words. Show me print in the environment.  Read with me and let me retell the story.

We are working on recognising numbers to 10 and ordering them. We have been working hard to represent numbers in a range of ways. Help me by counting claps, steps, leaves and different things. Help me recognise numbers in the environment.

Our Early Years Curriculum aims to lay a secure foundation to prepare our children for future learning.  Children engage in learning from the very start and we aim for all our children to leave us as happy, confident and skillful communicators who are curious about the world around them.

Our ethos in Early Years is to support children’s personal, social and emotional development and therefore we provide a high level of well-being to enable the children to be ready to learn. All staff work hard as a team to provide a positive, caring and welcoming atmosphere where the children feel secure.  We respect all families and aim to develop a positive relationship with each one.

We believe that all children deserve to be valued as an individual and we are passionate about enabling all children to achieve their full, unique potential.  With this in mind, we use observations to assess the individual needs of our children.  We then carefully develop our flexible EYFS curriculum that is delivered mainly through a topic based approach and that excites and engages our learners and builds upon their individual needs and interests. All staff work hard as a team to support  all children to meet or exceed our ambitious expectations.
