Help primary school children continue their education during coronavirus (COVID-19)

A Message to Everyone from Everyone!

Dear Parents/ Carers,

The latest government advice for schools was released last week.  Please note the following advice taken from it.

'Schools, and all childcare providers, are being asked to continue to provide care for a limited number of children-children who are vulnerable, and children whose parents are critical to  the Covid-19 response and cannot be safely cared for at home.  Many parents working in these sectors may be able to ensure their child is kept at home.  And every child who can be safely cared for at home should be'.

Key worker information remains the same.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we all pull together to ensure the safety of the school and wider community.

For up-to-date information regarding COVID-19 we have created a tab on the left of this webpage which we regularly update as new information is received.  Please refer to this tab often for support and advice.

Home Learning

As instructed by the government, school is now closed and will remain closed until further notice.

The children will now continue with their school work at home.  On each of the class pages, you will find a daily timetable and a home learning section, containing the week's work for your child to complete.  A home learning book will be provided for every child.  These will be given to children currently in attendance at school.  For those already absent, a responsible adult, not currently displayinig any symptoms of COVID-19, should collect their home learning pack from the school reception area from 9am on Monday 23rd March.  We respectfully ask that only one adult at a time enters the school to collect each folder so that social distancing advice can be maintainied.

The home learning activities for children to complete will be updated each Monday from 9am during term-time.  We expect that activities in the home learning books are completed to a high standard of presentation and handwriting is to the same standard that children would use in their books at school.  Once school reopens, the children will be expected to bring their home learning books back into school.

We hope you enjoy working with your child and sharing their learning with them.

We wish all of our children and their families well during this challenging time.

As Blessed John Henry Newman became Saint John Henry Newman, we at St Augustine's celebrated this historic moment in our parish with a series of activities in school.  Below is a video showing what fun we had.
